About us
Run by volunteers, for the whole village
Gawsworth Hub is run by local volunteers for the benefit of the community. Under one roof you’ll find a village shop with deli counter, a welcoming café and a Meeting Place for local groups, with seating both indoors and out.
Whether you’re grabbing the essentials, meeting friends for a catch-up or stopping off mid-walk or mid-ride, our staff and volunteers look forward to welcoming you. We’re proud to be accessible to everyone, with step-free access for wheelchair users and an accessible toilet for customers.
The Hub exists because people in Gawsworth wanted somewhere to shop, meet and look out for one another. Every coffee, every paper and every hour volunteered keeps that going.

What’s at the Hub?
Everything the village needs,
in one place
The Shop
Newspapers, magazines and cards, fresh local produce, everyday essentials, wines and spirits, and tickets for local events. Plus a deli counter with pies, cakes and made-to-order sandwiches.
The Cafe
Freshly ground coffee, teas and infusions, homemade cakes and scones, warm croissants and pain au chocolat, soup and a roll, and toasties. Eat in, sit outside or take away.
The Meeting Place
A unique community space seating up to 12, available free of rental charges for community activities and events. Got an idea for a group or club? We’d love to hear it.
When to find us
Open seven days a week
Early Week
Start the week with a fresh coffee and the morning papers.
- Monday to Wednesday
- 8am to 1:30pm
Late Week
Our longest days, perfect for a lunchtime toastie or an afternoon slice of cake.
- Thursday and Friday
- 8am to 4pm
Weekends
Weekend papers, fresh bakes and a chance to catch up with neighbours.
- Saturday 8am to 1pm
- Sunday 8am to 10:30am
Walkers, cyclists, families and dogs on leads all welcome. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
